NURSE PRACTITIONER/FOUNDER

Dawn Hinton, APRN, AGPCNP-BC

Originally from Gueydan, Dawn developed her passion for healthcare after becoming a private sitter for the elderly at the age of twelve years old. She graduated LPN school in 1999. She moved to Lake Charles in 2000. Since then she pursued her nursing education, degree after degree, working her way to an MSN in Nursing. From 2010 to 2021, she had cared for her hormone patients part-time while working fulltime as the occupational health nurse practitioner for LyondellBasell. The pandemic and Hurricane Laura became the catalyst for the creation of Revitalized Health after she was prohibited from seeing her patients. Dawn opened Revitalized Health in 2021 and now has four providers and two locations. 

When she is not seeing patients, Dawn loves spending time with her family and her two black labradors. She is a thrill seeker and loves to travel. She enjoys running, biking, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, rapelling, canyoneering, and scuba diving. 

NURSE PRACTITIONER/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Noel Hinton, APRN, FNP-BC

Originally from Gautier, MS, Noel moved to Lake Charles in 2000. He married Dawn in 2002 and they have two amazing adult sons, Cameron and Aiden.  He joined Revitalized Health in 2023 as the C.O.O. to help grow the practice and to increase access to healthcare for patients.  Noel brings over 30 years of health care experience in many areas including but not limited to  Trauma ICU, occupational health, orthopedics, wound care and urgent care.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Melinda Strickland, APRN, FNP-BC

Melinda is native of Westlake, LA. She received her undergraduate from Northwestern State University in 1983. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Nursing from McNeese State University in 2000. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Melinda brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Internal Medicine and Urology. She joined Revitalized Health after being revitalized herself as a patient in 2022.   Melinda’s  passion lies in creating individualized treatment plans and treating the root cause of chronic disease. 

Melinda enjoys quilting and DIY projects in her spare time. 

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Crystal Tarou, APRN, FNP-BC

Crystal was born and raised in Lake Charles. She graduated from McNeese State University (MSU) in 2003 with a BSN in nursing and worked in ICU for 10 years. While working as an RN, she completed her MSN in nursing education at Texas Women’s University. She then received her MSN for FNP in 2013 from MSU. She joined the Revitalized Health team in 2022 after personally experiencing how hormone optimization improved her health and well-being. She has also worked as needed at a local urgent care since 2014. Crystal is passionate about helping patients with health promotion and disease prevention through hormone optimization. For her, nutrition and movement are integral parts of healing and should be a part of any patient’s care plan to not only treat illnesses, but prevent them altogether.

She loves spending time with family and friends. Crystal also enjoys reading, weight training, walking, and preparing healthy meals.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Dorothy “Renee” Thornton, FNP-BC

Originally from Shreveport, Renee has worked in the medical field for many years. She has experience in every aspect of healthcare from the front desk, insurance claims and administrative assistant to CNA, LPN, RN and now Nurse Practitioner. She began pursuing her nursing degree and completed her RN degree in 2007 and her MSN in 2020. Her love for women’s health started at the beginning of her nursing career while working in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum, which lasted for 15 years. As a nurse practitioner, she worked as an urgent care provider and a nursing instructor for Women’s Health in the Nursing Department at Sowela Community College. Her love for women’s health with an emphasis on menopause has always been a focus for her ongoing education. Providing gynecological care to women of all ages in SWLA with an emphasis on optimal health for women experiencing menopause is an honor and privilege.
